It’s time to step back to where we came from… You asked for them… You asked for them and they’re making a comeback… After I started to post anything but beauty, so many of you emailed and sent me DMs asking why. Although I explain it in my about page, it’s time for give you what you came here for 4 years ago!
When I first started to do makeup, I spent all of my money on makeup products I never used and the only skincare product I had was a cleanser. Well, as you may have guessed, it was rough for my skin. The skin around my eyes were so wrinkly it looked so awful. That’s when I understood the importance of skincare and my mind shifted to ‘skin first, makeup second’.
Here are the products I love to use for my combination skin which tends to get really really dull and dry pretty often.
I must say the only makeup I do is concealer and mascara so I don’t really have much to remove. I either use baby shampoo or this Bebak Bitter Almond Milk. I remember hating the smell when I was a kid but now I quite like it. It reminds me when I would watch my grandmother do makeup haha.
My go to cleanser is the Neutrogena Oil Free Acne Wash. It’s cheap and available almost everywhere.
When I ran out of the Neutrogena one, I started to use Clarins Gentle Foaming Cleanser. It leaves my skin squeaky clean but it’s not a must have product for me. Also I wouldn’t recommend it if you have really dry skin.
We don’t have Lush in Turkey but I am lucky enough to travel frequently and visit Lush while traveling. Last summer when I was in London, I had pimples caused by stress and a very dull skin so the guy working there recommended Angels On Bare Skin Cleanser/Scrub. Guys, I fucking love this one! It gets rid of the dullness and the dead skin sells instantly! My skin feels like it’s breathing afterwards, the greatest feeling in the world (not quite accurate but bear with me)
After I wash my face, I love to use this Rosense Rose Water. It’s not about the brand specifically but apparently rose water is really good for your skin. I didn’t notice a major difference but everyone says it’s good so oh well!
Honestly, this is my favourite category because a good moisturiser is like oxygen for my skin; can’t survive without it. I recently started to use Garnier’s cream from the fairly new (I think) line. It captured my attention because it says it’s 96% is made of natural products. I fell in love with it immediately because it gets the job done so nicely.
Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Concentrate wasn’t really a necessity for someone my age but I fell into the YouTube hole and ended up getting one and I don’t regret it. When my skin looks dull or I applied masks and got all of the gunk out of my skin, I LOVE to use this and wake up to an amazingly moisturised, radiant skin.
Everytime I take a long shower, I love to do either an exfoliating mask and this one by Himalaya won my heart with it’s cheap price and it’s effect on my blackheads.
Do I actually have to explain why Mario Budescu Drying Lotion is so fucking good? Isn’t it enough already?
I hope you guys enjoyed this post and I hope it helped some of you! It feels weird to do a post like this after so much time.Although I can’t promise you the makeup, hair and outfit posts you want me to do since I really think they don’t matter considering all the shit’s that going on everywhere, it feels nice to think that I may have helped a few fellas out with my super duper amazing very profesh beauty knowledge!
