Hey! I’ve been wanting to write this post ever since I got my films developed. After five months of not seeing each other and three weeks of moving out from our lovely apartment and finding a new one, I finally got to spend some stress free time with Ladi.
I went to Trieste for the first time in 2019 and I fell in love with both the city and the countryside. I think it’s a combination of both it being where my boyfriend is from and it reminding me of Istanbul since I grew up with the sea by my side.
When we started to date I was 18 and Ladi was 20. He would make fun of me for still being in my teens… And he said he’d welcome me to the 20 club so I was extra excited to spend my birthday with him. If you think this is cringe, I don’t think it’ll stop there.
Growing up, I always thought I was coming from the sea haha. I would pray that a creature would come out of the sea and tell me that the sea is my home because that’s how it felt like. I get so excited when I’m in Trieste and someone says ‘let’s go to the beach’. 🙂
There’s this lot on the side of the road where deer that are injured are put to get better and I LOVE going there and feeding them. On my birthday, we went to the beach and after that we went to feed them again. It’s one of my favorite memories <3
Also on my birthday, we went to the city center and had a great day. This is the 2020 version of this photo. We decided we’d take the same photo every year. (More like I said it and Ladi had to agree…)
This year we went to a new ‘secret’ beach that Ladi’s little brother Tito discovered. I’ll take this moment to say another reason why I love going to Trieste so much. I get to spend time with Ladi’s family who are a second set of family to me. I love them so much, especially all of his siblings. I don’t have any, even though being a sister had always been something that I really wanted. It’s okay though, now I get to love Ladi’s siblings as mine!
I hope you enjoyed reading this. I’m so excited to share more when we’re back!
